Gaptastic
Old photo here of my gaptastic cowl. Should have mailed it out last month. The knitting is done. Just need to bind off, block and mail. The malabrigo mecha is lovely stuff to work with.

That's it
I've been warned. This is my last issue of interweave knits. And I am not renewing. I have not been grooving with IK in a while. There is only one project in this issue that I find interesting at all (see photo). I read the color wheel article (nothing new there). In 8+ years of subscription I have made only a handful of projects.

I likely will renew Spin Off (but we'll see).

Something for me
I've been in a knitting rut and a ravelry KAL got me working on a project I've been thinking about since 2008. For once I have finished a KAL in a timely manner and I now have a top that I can wear in season. The tantric puzzle top is an unusual, but simple, construction. It is not a pattern really, but a recipe, with lots of opportunity for customization. I made mine stripey and seamless. Stripey because I was worried I would run out of one color (I wouldn't have) and seamless because I know myself and sometimes a project languishes because I have finished all the fun knitting but can't get myself motivated to do the seaming.
Looking forward to the weather warming up enough so I can wear this top.

More hats
A few more hats to start the year. A baby hat for a friend and another man hat, this one for my husband.
I've been dreaming of starting my Tracery vest.

BIL hat
First completed project of the year. A hat for my BIL to match his son's hat. Finished whilst sitting atop the bleachers at an elementary basketball tournament. Now drying from its bath and soon to ship off.

Leg warmers complete
And I did finish those leg warmers in time. Here they are modeled on my son. But don't let him know I told you that. He said they did feel nice but the colors didn't do it for him.
You can see the one mistake I made. A set of decreases on the wrong side. But I decided my niece would never notice. So I left it as is.
